About Alerts

athenaEDI Alerts module lets athenaEDI users view important broadcast messages.

Alerts functionality provides EDI Services personnel the ability to broadcast messages to a targeted audience of athenaEDI users. This functionality helps users receive the right information at the right time, assuring they remain productive.

EDI Alerts are distributed in two ways:

  1. All users can view active and relevant alert messages at any time on the website through the EDI Alerts module.
  2. In addition, some users can set up email delivery of specific types of alerts, allowing them to receive important messages outside the athenaEDI System.

For users with email configured, published alerts are emailed in addition to being posted on the website. Alerts within an Alert Category are sent according to a user’s subscription to that Alert Category. Even with an email alert subscription, the same alert can be viewed through the athenaEDI website.

Upon logging in and navigating to the Alerts page, alerts displayed are for the following default criteria:

Field Default Value
Payer All
Include Expired Alerts No
Date Range Today

Use Filter Options to search for specific alerts. The Date Range field becomes active only when Include Expired Alerts is set to Yes and results will then include all alerts active and expired within the selected date range.

The left panel displays alert categories and the number of unviewed current alerts and total number of alerts (unexpired) in that category. The first (in alphabetical order) unread alert category is selected by default.

The middle panel shows all the alerts for the selected category. Unread alerts appear in bold. These alerts can be sorted in ascending/descending order on Published and Expired dates using the icon.

The right panel displays the selected individual alert details.
